Abi Pomeranc & Yusuf Karmali accepted onto the prestigious NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme
Two clinicians from Worthing Hospital – Abi Pomeranc and Yusuf Karmali – have been accepted onto the prestigious NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme for their work on the Medics.Academy Fellowship Programme.
The NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme supports healthcare professionals with an interest in entrepreneurship and innovation, offering expert mentoring, exclusive networking, and bespoke training to develop innovative ideas into products and businesses to benefit NHS patients.
After a competitive application process, including more than 300 applicants, Abi and Yusuf were accepted for their work on the Medics.Academy Fellowship programme – a unique programme which concentrates on developing the technical and interpersonal skills of medical students and healthcare professionals.
The duo – who coordinate the programme – were selected because of their expertise in technology enhanced learning. It brings the total of Medics.Academy staff who are on, or have gone through the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme to 8.
Abi and Yusuf are excited about the opportunity to develop their skills and the connections which will allow them to continue to improve healthcare education.
Speaking about the opportunity, Abi said;

It will give us access to a mentoring scheme, workshops on innovation and entrepreneurship, and valuable networking opportunities with other clinical entrepreneurs.
